My life is like an insane carousel

and I don’t know how to stop it

If i can’t slow it down

I think I’m going to vomit

Everything around blurs

Round and around it goes

faces repeating in the haze

in my jolting highs and lows

as my body swings from here to there

I hang on with an iron grip

faster and faster the colors whirl

The moments cracking like a whip.

And I wonder how this can be real

how can it be reality?

when did I get on the ride?

and where will I be at the ride’s finality?

Who are the spectators whose eyes meet mine?

Who is the operator that spun me through time?

Through meetings and thoughts and all things gone wrong

they spin through my mind and yet still I did not fall.

11 Reasons Why Game of Thrones with Animaniacs Characters would be a good idea.

Reason number one: The zany wacky loony world of Animaniacs is a perfect juxtaposition against the brutal and harsh world of Game of Thrones. Both are fantastic in different ways and although ice cream and pizza might be an odd combination of two excellent things I’d say this is more a Nutella-PB&J…with a side of orange spice snaps and salmon crabs stuffed with nuggets of caramel and Pentos apple taffy kind of idea. It’s good trust me on this.Such stark opposites could only get along.

422361-game-of-thrones-cast-banner-credit-hboTotallyinsaney

Reason number two: Animaniacs ended  on the air in 1998 meaning that anyone who was alive when this show was running is now over 18 years old (if you didn’t feel old already), yeah only adults can remember watching Animaniacs on the WB, if there was ever a reason to make more adult humor* about the universe, this is it. Game of thrones is ripe for a parody with giant sledge hammers, bulging surprise eyes, and zig-zaggy tongues just as much as Animaniacs could be ready for horrid violence and medieval political intrigue if it was done right. Imagine the reactions can happen when the white walkers show up. Without a doubt mixing the two things would have to be done carefully so as not to make Animaniacs needlessly violent and still retain the cold steel of realism that GoT has.  .

Reason number Three:

goodideabadidea

Narrator: “It’s time once again for another good idea, bad idea”

Narrator: “Good idea…”

[We see the mannequin resembling Ned Stark/Sean Bean in the tower of the hand’s solarium pawning over the book of lineages]

Narrator: “…Discovering the dark secret behind Jon Arryn’s murder…”

[Fade to black and then show Bad Idea title]

Narrator: “…Bad Idea…”

[Open to Stark/Bean mannequin confronting Slappy Squirrel as Cerci Lannister. Cerci folds her arms.]

Narrator: “Telling the one who murdered John Arryn that you figured out their dark secret.”

[Fade to black with drum roll]

[Open to  the Great Sept of Baelor in King’s Landing, we see the stage from the  far crowd where Slappy/Cerci stands with the high members of the court, Skippy/ Joffery orders Illan Payne forth, Stark/Bean Mannequin kneels before being beheaded**.]

[Show end title]

Narrator: “The End”

The-End-Good-Idea-Bad-Idea.png

Reason number Four: I already have the lyrics for the opening theme, if you need to refresh your memory this is the original.  The one thing you have to force is the “game of” into one syllable for all but the first chorus, but I’m not claiming that I’m a perfect lyricist. This also assumes that you go with the Animaniacs opening theme as opposed to the Game of Thrones one.

“It’s Game of Animaniacs,
and it’s zany to the max,
so get your sword and your axe,
which house will die off last?
Game of Animaniacs.

Come join the stark children,
and their stark sibling Dot,
Just for fun they run around Westeros a lot.
They throw them out the moon door,
Whenever they get caught,
but your favorite ones will lose their heads and now you know the plot.

Game of Animaniacs,
Sansa’s cute and Robb’s got class,
Jon’s a bastard of his dad, Bran won’t ever walk again,
Game of Animaniacs.

Meet Tyrion and Bronn who want to learn and make a purse,
Ned and Robert stick together, Cerci sends them to the Herse***,
Jorah chases Danni,
While Arrie sings a verse,
The writing’s fucked I’ve given up on who’s bad and who is worse,

Game of Animaniacs,
Brutality and flay-ing flesh,
Atrocities begin to mesh,
It’s fake folklore at its best,
It’s Animany,
Totally Insaney,
(More than a little Derangey,)

Game of anamaney-acs

You can-not go back.

donk.

Reason Number Five:…I don’t have too much time on my hands and am a rational human being like you.

Reason Number six: Imagine The Brain as Tyrion Lannister. Yeah. The Brain as Orson Wells as Tyrion Lannister walking around Westeros with an armored and deadly mercenary Pinkey. Tell me that’d not be fantastic and you’re spittle will dry in your mouth because I’ve poisoned your wine with “The strangler” for your heresy.

Joffrey_envenenado_HBO

This is you. This is what you get.

Reason Number Seven: Mindy as Dennarys Targaryan and Buttons as Jorah Mormont

.04464307595-buttons

Of all the Animaniacs shorts the Mindy/Buttons ones were my least favorite, it was a pretty drawn out ten minutes of the blissfully unaware innocent who narrowly avoids certain demise while an equally innocent takes all the hits cleshe of slapstick comedy (I ended up just feeling bad for Buttons). However, make Jorah Mormont a cartoon dog dedicated to pledging his life to an Idealistic Mindy who has the power of three Dragons and an army of freed slaves? I don’t care what happens that is pure gold.
Also this can happen at Astopor:

Dovaogēdys! Āeksia ossēnātās, menti ossēnātās, qilōni pilos lue vale tolvie ossēnātās, yn riñe dōre ōdrikātās. Urnet luo buzdaro tolvio belma pryjātās! Okay I love you Buhbye!”

[slave master is emulated by dragon fire]

Reason Number Eight: Rita as the murderous Arya Stark and Runt as the even more murderous Sandor Clegane. It’s a musical romp from the Riverlands to the twins and then back south to the Eyrie surrounded by the deaths of many villagers, bandits, and coincidental relatives. You will see such hits as
I put needle in your throat and now you can gurgle while I gloat.
and
Merrin Fucking Trent!” <<this conversation as a song, between these characters:

rita_and_runt__next_to_me_by_statx015-d64pd5n
the-hound-arya.jpg

Reason number nine: Dot would be a good Arya too…maybe once she gets out of westeros and handles that…face temple.

Ten: Wakko as Bran, maybe his warg powers turns the animals into a kind of Elvis impersonation. Who wouldn’t want to see Hodor sing blue suede shoes? I’m sure he knows all the lyrics.

Eleven: umm… Yakko using his cartoon invincibility and willy tricks to turn the red wedding into a kind of Scooby doo chase scene….

Anyway I’m losing steam with this*****, what with the wine, and the tiredness. It’s like 3 AM.

Comment if you have any ideas, if you are an animator steal mine ….I just want it to exist.

Footnotes:
* I realize that Animaniacs has a lot of adult humor already, but maybe just pushing the line a bit farther could be warranted. Or we could just leave it unspoiled.

**oh yeah SPOILERS!! That was season one/ book one stuff that was probably already ruined for you between now and 5 or 20 years ago. Also my theory is Jon is a Warg and is now living as his dyrewolf Ghost which is a cool prospect.

***Ohhh more stuff that had more than two decades of common knowledge****

****I’m pretty sure the majority of people don’t care about GoT/SOIAF spoilers anymore…I just wanted to be edgy… L

*****There are too many characters in GoT for it to match up perfectly but It would be good as just short snippits.

Okay I love you Buhbye!

Good & Evil Rush tomorrow

So for a while I’ve been working on this comic, It involves two foxes who may or may not be representing Yin and Yang as they try to deal with themselves and the world around them in parallel adventures.

The vast majority is not online but I do have a website where I plan to rectify that: http://goodevilcomic.com/

Tomorrow from 4:00pm to some time later (eastern US time) I’m going to be uploading a new page every half hour. If you would like to see it from the beginning here’s the link: http://goodevilcomic.com/comic/good-evil-chapter-1-title/

If you enjoy my writing, this comic is little more than a visual story, and I mean that because you need to have an open mind when looking at my drawings 😛

If you like Consider Subtlety please also follow Good and Evil. You wont be disappointed.

Secondary Characters

My favorite characters have always been the secondary comic relief characters who are usually the main character’s best friend.

The comic relief characters never seem very smart usually but things seem to work out for them, depending on what kinda movie (or story) it is. The thing is they don’t get “the girl” or find anything to substantial or fulfilling for themselves, but they are glad as hell  when their friend (the main character) works through their problems. Maybe it’s because  they aren’t looking for any fulfillment or love, or maybe they are only hiding the fact that they have nothing but themselves. To the Funny secondary characters, there is an underlying desperation about them that intrigues me because it’s way more human. It is because despite the trials and victory of the main hero, that ability to make light of the situation with a joke, blissfully unaware in silliness is a kind of enlightenment.

They aren’t a main force or a decider, they don’t question where they are, they go with wherever they are taken. They fill a role rather  than upset order, offering commentary on the struggles between villains and heroes, no matter which side they are on. The desperation is in their desire to achieve something, to do something meaningful, but not know the way. They want to be the hero but retain a doubt, a more encompassing perspective that seems like it’s always holding them back. It is the fear they have that they have no bearing on the world that isn’t by accident or a foolish blunder. They only make things happen when they aren’t trying to make things occur, and Their efforts to help are always met with imposable challenges that go awry.

Hero’s and Villains, despite whatever ideals they strive for, can only be concerned with their struggle, where those around them enter and exit. Both are kind of selfish and crazy in their own way because they use others to meet their goals. Comic relief’s are loyal to a fault and although they want the same things as their hero, they will never get the recognition or the acclaim.

The lone comic relief could be seen as a depressing character, comedy, in the infinite ironies of the universe, seems to be based on the contrast that great tragedy must be so. Alas, it is those people who make the world brighter that are likely more aware of the darkness. And only hope can we realize the secondary character finds their time to be a hero.

A Glimpse at Grivo

Why are you doing this? Thought Grivo.

I should be asking you the same question….Thought Grivo.

Don’t question my decisions…you…cant see she’s homesick.

So? Why should we give a damn?

Well she got us off Talfur and fixed the ship. We do kind of owe her.

We don’t owe her anything, and your right, she did fix the ship, she did get us off Talfur. But let’s not forget the time sensitive material on Gredux 5676.

It will only be a slight detour.

No. It wont. There’s no jump gate to Earth anymore. It could take weeks, months even.

Whatever. We’re stopping at Ganymede. We can figure out our plan from there.

We could just leave her –

Don’t even think about it. Thought Grivo.

Fine…

Lynda returned from the rear quarters of the ship. Her face was a little more stretched. She looked at the new course they were taking. Away from the jump gate further into space and towards the small moon of Jupiter. It had once been an Earth Colony.

“Where are we going?”

Grivo looked back at her. Her worn red flight suit had droplets of water on it. her normally round face seemed to hang and her eyes hung downward.

“Ganymede…then Earth” he said finally before facing towards the windows.

Lynda lifted her head.

“What. Really?!” Said Lynda before she composed herself.

“Ahem well um why?” she said.

“I just felt that…um …well the thing.” Grivo glanced away, his furry brow furrowed over his eyes. “Alright I felt sorry for you.”

Grivo turned to see Lynda utterly speechless. She watched him like she had never seen a four foot anthropomorphic fox alien before. The little alien looked back up indigently at her.  Lynda raised an eyebrow and then convulsed with a snerk before bursting into laughter.

“HAHA…YOU….haha- felt- sorry.!?” She said, supporting herself on the low roof of the cabin.

I knew it. Thought Grivo

“Shut Up.” Said Grivo Turning back to the controls of the ship.

“I…” Lynda gasped “I’m sorry. You don’t feel Anything!”

“You know I can still change my mind, and we could move on to the conduit. A good few thousand of light years away.”

Lynda calmed herself and walked over to the puffy passenger seat.

“Okay i’m sorry,” she said stifling another outburst “Thanks.”

She plopped herself down and threw her boots up on the dash holding back a secondary aftershock snerk.

“Even so. it would be good to stop on the moon before we depart. The ship needs supplies and some real tools. It would suck if we fell apart during the jump.”

“Don’t you go into like another dimension if you fall out of a jump?” said Lynda

“Hell I don’t think anybody knows. Why would you want to try?”

“Just a thought” Lynda said. She thought for a moment as the ship began arcing towards the moon, away from the gate.

“Look Fox We-”

“Don’t call me that.” Said Grivo.

” – We don’t need to go to earth. It’s a kind thing to offer. But Lets just be on our way after we get the supplies.” She leaned over and switched off the radio which seemed to be playing Elmore James at the time. “The music from my home planet spurred a…momentary… weakness on my part.”

Grivo looked over as Lynda returned to the laid back position, stretching her legs back out and placing her red boots on the dash. She crossed her arms and watched as the gate slowly passed by the wide window. Grivo pivoted towards the atmosphere of Ganymede.

Good. She doesn’t want to go. That’s that. Thought Grivo.

But she’s probably just saying that. Insist on it.

Where the fuck is all this empathy coming from? Ganymede, Sure: supplies and whatnot. But there is TREASURE waiting for you on 5676. Yet it’s only there as long as a salvaging satellite or a patrol ship doesn’t swing by.

That said. Imagine what undiscovered gems could be on earth…

Lynda glanced over to Grivo. The Alien was piloting with a spacy concentration. Silent and unmoving. She reached over and grabbed an old magazine from the side of the dash and opened it. There was an article about a new craze sweeping the galaxy about five years ago.

Suddenly Grivo jumped from his chair and ran across the dash. Lynda heard his paws tapping across the console a split second before the magazine was ripped from her hands and replaced by the intense teeth and eyes of Grivo’s desperation. He grabbed her by the shoulders.

“DO YOU WANT TO GO TO EARTH OR NOT! TELL ME NOW! YES OR NO! NO OTHER WORDS! RIGHT NOW!”

Lynda yelped and threw Grivo off of her. He fell to the floor but the alien rose quickly out of a roll, standing defiantly at her.

Lynda felt the ‘yes’ burning inside her from some deep place that she had tried to cover up. But the voice of her job, her profession, that which she prided herself and lived on for so long told her to stick to the plan. This weird little Alien had a bounty on his head so big, she could buy her own planet.

But the music in her soul put up a great argument.

“N…uh” She said, looking away.

Grivo watched her, his mind racing between binary points.

Go

Don’t

Go

Don’t

Lynda turned back to him. “Just give me some time on Ganymede to think about it. Jeez.” She said before turning back to the window.

Grivo lowered his arms. His tail coiled and a frustration broiled so hot for a moment. But then like a switch of clarity and calm, Grivo said:

“Okay!” and hopped gayly back up into the pilot seat. he pressed a few buttons and clicked the intercom for entry procedures.

Weird little creature. Thought Lynda.

Radio

The radio sputtered with static. Garbled voices of various pitches whirred into focus and then away with the rapid switch between stations. A band of blue green light waved with the frequencies in the center of the console behind scratched and dirty glass. The green numbered preset buttons below stood at attention between two knobs outlined with neon orange against the darkness of the cabin.

The static waved like rain on a metal roof, became interlaced with pops and waves, or receded for a moment to give way to the muffled voice of some alien creature. Nothing clear or decipherable could be heard. In the vast world of radio frequencies, nothing was picked up by the device.

Lynda swiveled her chair away from the window.

“It’s busted. Why do you keep trying.” Her crossed arms ignored the brown canvas of the puffy foam passenger chair.  Beyond the glass behind her, the neon lights of the spaceway and other ships in the night moved quickly across the stars.

“You don’t have any appreciation for frequency jumping do you?” Said Grivo. The little fox looking alien stood on the edge of the pilot’s chair, his claws digging into the imitation leather material. One of his furry hands was on the console of the radio and the other held the wheel.  His face was alight with an animal curiosity at the radio while the frequency band reflected blue green off of his dark glistening eyes.

The sounds of the dead radio whirred and jumped some more around the hi-fi rigged surround sound system of the ship’s cabin. The strange and abstract noises from mysterious sources fell flatly on Lynda whose face somehow depressed further into her crossed arms. The blaring static and garbage noise polluted her mind with a rising landfill of rage until she snapped.

She flung her arms out at the little creature.

“CANT YOU PLEASE JUST PUT ON A SONG for gods… sake-”

Just at that moment, her wide eyes cooled. Her mouth hung open and her arm muscles relaxed as a driving back beat of pedal drum and bass guitar smited her. With crystalline clarity the groove arose from the sea of static. The song was graced with the presence of a guitar. It’s silver strings vibrating smoothly along the frets. A soft soulful saxophone meandered above it all.  The notes hit her like heat to butter. A lone voice took over singing words in another language which could have meant anything to her.

The song had a magical effect on her until the saxophone’s solo was beginning to rise and a curtain of dense static dropped over the experience.

“Eh, not my favorite tune. Too lounge music don’t you think?” said Grivo turning the dials with a fervency once more.

“Hey! Change it back!” said Lynda

“Oh you liked it?”

“YES! That song was from Earth!”

Grivo looked back with a confused tilt.

“My home planet.”

The static continued around them, Grivo seemed to be thinking the same thing.

Lynda furrowed her brow. “It made me nostalgic.”

Grivo flicked his wrist and the music smoothly retook the cabin. Lynda sat back in the chair and swiveled it towards the window. Grivo let go of the dial and focused his eyes and both hands on piloting. The white and yellow electronic lines on the glass showed the safest lanes of travel as ships switched between them. Their thrusters were a myriad of colors.

“I have no idea what nostalgia is. But it must be nice for you humans. I ether like music or I don’t.” Said Grivo

“No.” Said Lynda “It’s not like that…it’s …well…uh…It’s that the music makes me think about other things. Nostalgia is like a kind of homesick…but for memories too…”

It was Grivo’s turn to furrow his brow. “Why would you want to be homesick?”

“It’s not like that- just- just forget it, lets just listen to the song in peace.” Said Lynda, her arms resuming their crossed position. She looked out the window at the approaching hyper-jump gate, in orbit around Gatamine while french smooth jazz played around the alien’s spaceship.

Activity Update

I salute you. Thanks to all my followers and readers, you are great!

poster

So, For those of you who have been waiting for more Sci Fi fox or Good & Evil, I should not, but I must make the same unfortunate excuse as anyone who makes comics, that it takes a while. Since I’m not much in the way of drawing, It’s not that I’m working on one page for all this time, but I hope to put up many pages at once at once rather than keep the story so segmented for both. Issue 2 of G & E will be done soon. It’s a couple pages longer, But I will reboot the past issue with it.

Anyway, if you like my writing at all, please don’t hesitate to let me know. If you don’t like my writing, well, no one asked you. If you don’t have the attention span to read, then I guess I can only blame you for being uncultured swine. Since the majority of people rarely read past the first sentence, this is kind of an inside joke right now between you and me (hehe).
I made this poster, more comics will be soon, for now I leave you with space police:
